Weeknd‘s long-awaited virtual event with Tik Tok took place on Friday night, where the singer offered augmented reality and interactive live streaming on the controversial platform.
Weeknd’s XO label, along with Republic Records and WAVE, Scooter Braun’s initial virtual show, joined forces for “The Weeknd Experience” to give fans something unique to experience in a climate where real shows are almost nonexistent. Billed as the “first cross-reality experience in the app,” the show was about 15 minutes long and offered 3-D visuals and immersive interactive sets.
